We all know that if you have two identical Facebook business pages, you can merge them.
You should bear in mind:
- After the merge one of them will remain and the other one will disappear and only followers and check-ins will be migrated.
- The content will be removed along with the Page you decide to delete.
- You can maintain the same username or migrate it from the one which will be removed.
- And also if you can redirect users from the removed link to the new one.
So, if you have identical pages with the same name, you can merge them as easy as 1-2-3.
Go to “Settings” – “Merge the pages”. You can read here more on this process.
But if the names are different, you won’t succeed.
Sometimes it’s impossible to change the name of page, because Facebook thinks that the new name of the page also changes the topic of your business page and your followers will see the irrelevant publications.
For example, if you have a page ”Property in Spain” and want to be more specific ”Property in Spain: Torrevieja, Benidrom”, Facebook still can reject your request.
Or, if the name of page is in Russian and you want to change it to English, you probably also will be rejected.
In this case:
Go here and find additional support (email or chat) and make contact during work hours, you will be attended to almost immediately.
Explain to the manager of the support department what you are trying to achieve.
Normally, it takes one day to merge the pages. In my case, it took five hours.
Good luck! If you have any questions on administrating Facebook pages, I am here to help you.
